1. What is the new PlayStation Plus subscription plan?

The new PlayStation Plus subscription plan is a three-tiered service that offers a variety of benefits, including online multiplayer, access to a library of games, and cloud gaming.

The three tiers are:

  • PlayStation Plus Essential: This is the base tier and offers the same benefits as the current PlayStation Plus service.
  • PlayStation Plus Extra: This tier includes all the benefits of PlayStation Plus Essential, plus access to a library of up to 400 PS4 and PS5 games.
  • PlayStation Plus Premium: This tier includes all the benefits of PlayStation Plus Extra, plus access to a library of up to 340 classic games from the PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP generations, as well as cloud streaming of select games.

2. When will the new PlayStation Plus subscription plan be available?

The new PlayStation Plus subscription plan will be available from June 2023 onwards.

3. How does the new PlayStation Plus subscription plan affect the redemption of older PlayStation Plus Gift Cards?

Older PlayStation Plus Gift Cards can still be redeemed under the new PlayStation Plus tiered structure.

For users without an active membership, the older Playstation Plus Gift Cards will be redeemed for the equivalent number of days under the 'PlayStation Plus Essential' Tier by default, after which the user can manually opt to upgrade their membership to an 'extra' or 'premium' plan through their PlayStation Account. For users with active memberships, we've prepared a conversion table that outlines how older PlayStation Plus gift cards will be converted under the new PlayStation Plus subscription plan:

4. What happens if I already have a PlayStation Plus subscription?

If you already have a PlayStation Plus subscription, the old PlayStation Plus Gift Cards will add the corresponding number of days to your existing subscription. For example, if you have a 1-month PlayStation Plus subscription and you redeem a 3-month PlayStation Plus Gift Card, your subscription will be extended to 4 months. For further information, you can also refer to below conversion table below:

5. Can I use a PlayStation Plus Gift Card to buy other things on the PlayStation Store?

No, PlayStation Plus Gift Cards can only be used to purchase a PlayStation Plus subscription.

6. What's the difference between Playstation Plus and Playstation Now?

PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now are both monthly subscription plans. The main difference between them is that PlayStation Plus provides online multiplayer access to PS4 and PS5 games, while PlayStation Now is a game subscription service where you can instantly stream hundreds of games on your PS4, PS5, or PC.

7. How do PlayStation NOW Gift Card redemptions work under the new PlayStation Plus tiered structure?

For users without an active PlayStation Plus subscription, the Playstation NOW voucher provides you access to PlayStation Plus 'Premium' for the length of time equivalent to the PlayStation Store price of your original voucher.

If you're already an existing PlayStation Plus subscriber, the voucher will be converted to a length of time on your current membership tier equivalent to the PlayStation Store price of the voucher you're redeeming.

The table below outlines the conversation rates for available PlayStation Now denominations:
